What web accessibility is

Accessibility in Remote Online Notarization (RON)

Our remote notarization platform is designed to meet accessibility standards and to ensure inclusivity for all clients.

a. Technology & Compatibility

  • The remote notarization system supports screen readers, keyboard navigation, and high-contrast viewing options.

  • The platform is accessible via desktop, laptop, or mobile device with compatible browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari, or Firefox).

  • Closed captioning and transcript options are available during audio-video sessions upon request.

b. Identification & Communication Support

  • Clients who have visual, hearing, or speech impairments may request assistance with identity verification through alternate methods (within the limits allowed by Florida law).

  • Real-time communication during the notarization session may include chat, captioning, or interpreter support as requested.

  • Upon request and advance notice, a sign-language interpreter or certified communication assistant may be included in the session.

c. Assistance with Document Access

  • Documents for signing can be enlarged, downloaded in advance, or provided in accessible PDF format.

  • Step-by-step email and phone guidance can be provided before the appointment for those who need technical assistance or additional explanation of the online process.

3. Accessibility in Mobile Notarization

We also offer mobile notary services throughout Florida, which are designed to bring accessibility directly to our clients’ locations.

a. Travel & Location Arrangements

  • Appointments can be scheduled at homes, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, workplaces, libraries, or other accessible locations at the client’s request.

  • Clients requiring mobility accommodations (such as wheelchair access or ground-floor arrangements) may specify these needs during booking.

  • The notary will ensure any location selected for signing meets reasonable privacy, lighting, and accessibility needs.

b. Equipment & Support

  • The notary carries accessible writing surfaces, clipboards, and portable document lighting.

  • Large-print documents can be provided upon request.

  • Service animals are welcome and accommodated during all mobile appointments.

c. Assistance During Signing
While Florida notaries may not provide legal interpretation or advice, we can assist clients with:

  • Physically positioning documents for signing;

  • Reading text aloud if requested;

  • Ensuring all participants understand where and how to sign;

  • Allowing additional time for each step of the notarization process.

Commitment to Accessibility

GMK Notary of Florida is committed to providing equal access and service to all clients, including individuals with disabilities. Our goal is to ensure that every client, regardless of physical ability, can comfortably and safely access our notary services in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Florida Statutes §553.501–553.513 (Florida Accessibility Code for Building Construction).

We continuously review our accessibility practices to improve the experience for all clients using our in-person notarization services.

Accessibility Arrangements

a. Parking & Entrance:

Accessible parking spaces are available [insert number, e.g., “in front of the main entrance” or “adjacent to the building’s east side”], with a clearly marked, wheelchair-accessible route to the entrance. The entrance features no steps / wide entryway suitable for mobility aids.

b. Public Transportation:

Our office is accessible via public transportation. The nearest bus stop is located approximately 200 feet from the building. The path from the station to the office entrance is paved, well-lit, and wheelchair accessible.

c. Interior Access:

The lobby, waiting area, and service desks are located on the ground floor and fully accessible.

Hallways and doorways meet ADA width requirements.

There are no stairs required to access the notary service desk.

The service counter is designed for seated and standing accessibility.

Restrooms are ADA-compliant and located at the end of the main hallway on the left

d. Assistance Devices:

Clients with hearing, vision, or mobility impairments are welcome to request additional assistance. Available accessibility aids include:

Portable writing boards and magnifiers

Large-print copies of key forms

Staff assistance with document completion or page handling (without providing legal interpretation)

If applicable: audio induction loops, elevators, or service animal accommodations

3. Additional Accessibility Services

If you require specific accommodations, please contact our office at least 24 hours before your appointment so we can make necessary arrangements.

We can provide:

Curbside notarization service upon request

Sign-language interpreter coordination (advance notice required)

Extended appointment times for clients requiring additional assistance
